The cracking I can see becoming an issue since it is done by another company. It introduces stresses and flaws into the material. The company probably doesn't perform a heat treament after drilling the holes either.
Warping on the other hand should NEVER occurr. If it does, the engineer who spec'd the material should be working at McDonald's. I find it hard to believe the engineers are dumb enough to use something other than annealed steel for brake rotors.
